Originally produced for the European market by the Swedish company Lammhults, Funk Tables will now be manufactured under license in North America by Nienkämper. This versatile series has clean, distinctive lines and comes in a range of shapes and heights. Funk Tables are suitable not only for meeting rooms and boardrooms but also for café and reception areas and private offices.
Funk´s designers, the Danish team known as Peter Hiort-Lorentzen and Johannes Foersom, have a long history of developing seating and table collections that are thoroughly Scandinavian in their engaging simplicity. Funk´s bases – inverted Y-shaped trestles for the oblong meeting tables, and cruciform-footed pedestals for café-style round or square tables – are instantly recognizable. These bases are also distinctive to the touch: made of durable, matte-finish polyurethane coated steel, they have a slightly "soft" feel. Bases for North American production are imported from Sweden. Nienkämper fabricates the tops and handles the assembly in Canada. Tops are available in Nienkämper wood veneers or laminate, and can be specified to incorporate Nienkämper´s Vox® connectivity technology.
