Project: Canaccord Capital, Montreal, PQ

Canaccord wanted their new office space to be an integrated environment that would promote a high quality of service and professionalism, while showing an attention to detail. The design elements focused on the reception area and client meeting complexes on the two floors that served their Retail and Institutional clients and integrated high level finishes and technology. With an artwork collection to complete the aesthetic, the dark wood, limestone floors and overall openness provided a classic look. The Corporate and Private Client business units were separated on two different floors. Both floors share a common aesthetic while recognizing functional differences. The Montreal office is the latest to adopt the standards developed for the Toronto office, which have also been translated in other offices in the UK, New York and Houston. All of the offices share the similar look and feel, but have their own unique design elements.

Project: Ojon

Ojon Corp. is a Burlington based hair care enterprise revolving around ingredients found only in the rainforests of Central America.

The SGH design intention was to create a workspace that incorporated the Ojon company branding in a unique way. Emphasis was placed on juxtaposing technology and nature through the use of contrast, movement and texture. Tactile features such as rich wood, fibrous carpet and living plants were offset by smooth stained concrete, flowing water and sleep translucent glass.

High ceilings and the existing staircase inspired dramatic vertical elements and ensured a cohesive flow between the two floors. Skylights and perimeter windows allowed natured light to permeate the space, contributing to a healthy work place and providing a suitable environment for plants.

The fully transformed space included open office areas, a lunchroom, custom millwork, a fully functioning test salon and marketing centre, private offices and boardroom, a two-storey water feature and interior landscaping.
